Before & After
From Ordinary backyard to Aquastonishing
Small Pond Redesign and Construction
When we first arrived at this project, the pond was small and lacked the character and tranquility our client was looking for. Our goal was to create a more inviting and peaceful space by expanding the pond and incorporating natural elements. We carefully enlarged the pond, shaping it to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, and added a small waterfall to enhance both the visual appeal and the soothing ambiance. The sound of cascading water created a relaxing atmosphere, making the space feel like a true retreat. We also introduced lush aquatic plants and strategically placed seating areas to complete the transformation. The end result was a serene, inviting pond that not only enhanced the beauty of the yard but also provided the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment.

Koi Pond Rebuild
The original pond did not have sufficient depth and size to accommodate the koi fish. The pond was enlarged and deepened, an intake bay was added to serve as a prefilter instead of a traditional skimmer, and flat water overlapping rocks were used in the construction to provide fish observing and feeding spots for visitors. Additionally, we installed the Aquascape Stacked Slate Urn and underwater jets to improve water oxygenation and clarity.

Koi Pond Design & Construction
The owners desired an area for both relaxation and entertaining their guests. This space serves as a focal point of the backyard, providing enjoyment from the home, patio, and gazebo.

Full backyard renovation
The property had a big grass backyard. The owners wanted to have more inviting places for family and friends’ entertainment. The design and construction included koi pond with waterfall and skimmer, long stream that runs as small river alongside of the existing brick walkway and ends with pondless composition of Aquascape Stacked Urns that add dimension and sound to this amazing waterscaping. The stream has bridges that allow easy access to the backyard. We also installed a pondless composition with a big Aquascape spillway bowl in the otherwise unused corner, creating another focal point. The surrounding landscaping creates seamless transition, softens the edges, and adds color. Rose garden and butterfly garden are beautiful from late spring to late fall.

Pondless Waterfall Design and Installation
A great example of front yard aquascaping is presented here. The streaming water guides guests to the house entrance. The sound of water can help mask street noise. This setup also attracts local birds who come for water and bathing.

Backyard entertainment space
The backyard features a large tree that offers excellent shade. Under this shaded area, a granite boulder pond with a waterfall has been constructed to replace the otherwise mundane grass turf, creating a serene space for relaxation. To reduce the maintenance, an intake bay prefilter has been installed. Expansive landscaping was added to attract butterflies. The design is completed with a small flagstone patio designed to accommodate a bistro table and chairs, along with another flagstone patio intended for the firepit.

New Pond with Intake Bay and Waterfall
The owners aimed to expand their gardening area by adding a pond next to the existing patio, allowing for a variety of plants and colors. Mossy boulders were used in the pond and waterfall construction to add depth and character, and to complement the brick house. An intake bay was included to reduce maintenance caused by the large trees in the backyard.

Conversion of Formal fountain to complete eco system Koi Pond with Wetland filter
The formal fountain in the patio has been converted and expanded with a pond that extends beyond the patio. A flagstone bridge allows crossing the pond from the patio and offers stunning views of an expansive waterfall. The bog filter (wetland system) along with the intake bay prefilter helps maintain clear water. The Aquascape Stacked Slate sphere fountain effectively transitions from formal to informal settings, adding both an interesting visual and auditory element. The night view is particularly impressive, with lights from the fountain reflecting off the house, creating a captivating ambiance.

Retaining wall converted into Pondless Waterfall
The owners had a granite boulder retaining wall that separated the yard from the patio. They desired to add an interesting visual and auditory feature to entertain their large family without incorporating a pond. Consequently, three pondless waterfalls were installed, creating the illusion of water emerging from the retaining wall.
