Spring Clean-Out
Pond
- Place fish in holding container with aerator
- Drain Pond (if applicable)
- Remove debris from the pond
- Wash rocks and gravel
- Trim, divide, and fertilize aquatic plants
- Adjust rocks and gravel as needed
- Fix settling edges as needed
- Clean all filters and bio-media
- Clean skimmer and Biofalls
- Clean bog filter (if applicable)
- Check underwater lights, replace bulbs as needed
- Replace waterfall foam as needed
- Rinse Pond
- Refill pond with water
- Add beneficial bacteria
- Dechlorinate water as needed
- Add pond salt for fish coating
- Diagnose any potentially sick fish
- Acclimate and re-introduce fish into pond
- Reconnect and start waterfall pump and inspect newly cleaned system
Pondless Waterfall
- Drain pondless waterfall
- Remove debris from waterfall, stream and basin
- Wash rocks and gravel
- Adjust rocks and gravel as needed
- Fix settling edges as needed
- Clean Biofalls (if applicable)
- Trim and/or divide aquatic plants (if applicable)
- Check underwater lights, replace bulbs as needed
- Replace waterfall foam as needed
- Add beneficial bacteria
- Dechlorinate water as needed
- Reconnect and start waterfall pump and inspect newly cleaned system

Fall Preparation & Winterizing
Pond
(1st visit – Beginning of October)
- Clean out debris from skimmer
- Remove leaves from the surface of the pond
- Trim down hardy aquatic plants
- Remove annual plants
- Treat water with cold water bacteria
- Replace 10-25% of water for ponds with fish overpopulation
- Install and position aeration kit and de-icer
- Stretch net over pond to catch falling leaves
(2nd visit - Mid-End of November)
- Remove the net for winter season
- Turn off the lights
- Shut off the pump, disconnect it, and leave it for owner to store inside
- Shut off auto feeder, dozer, external filter, remove, clean, and leave for the owner to store inside
- Blow pipes
- Install pipes’ plugs as needed
- Turn on aerator and de-icer and make sure that everything is working properly
Pondless Waterfall
- Clean-out leaves and debris from waterfall, stream and basin
- Trim water plants
- Disconnect and remove pump, clean it out, and leave it for owner to store inside

Maintenance Service Visits
- Analyze the general state of your water feature (pump, waterfall, etc.)
- Thoroughly clean and rinse: filter pads, skimmer baskets, and nets
- Check for shifted rock and readjust if necessary
- Cover all exposed pond liner
- Clean-up overgrown plant material from the waterfall, skimmer, and stream
- Remove string algae from stream, pond,& waterfall
- Check and replace dead light bulbs as needed (material charge)
- Add beneficial bacteria as needed
- Add algaecide as needed
- Trim and fertilize plants
- Perform basic water quality test
- Check aquatic life for disease and other complications
- Apply pond salt for fish health as needed
- Add water to the pond as needed
